James Yao

I am excited to be here at Harding after a decade working at a boarding school outside the Twin Cities. I love working with students to help them find their voice and express themselves through music. I grew up in a Chinese American family on the East Coast before moving to MN to attend St. Olaf College. Choir has always been a passion and I love getting the chance to play piano for and sing with choirs around the area. Over summers I try to travel, see new places, and learn about music and cultures from people I visit. I'm looking forward to all the wonderful music we will make in choir, piano, and world music.
