Harding ESL Teacher Popa Visits Vietnam, Thailand, Laos as Part of Fund for Teachers Grant

Gina Popa, an ESL teacher at Harding Senior HIgh School, completed a Fund for Teachers grant this summer. The 42-year veteran teacher received $5,000 to witness the universal language of music across Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, while also observing the region's long and tumultuous political and environmental history, to better engage with ELL students and their families who emigrated from their homeland as refugees in search of a better life.

Gina is one of 355 Prek-12 teachers from across the country and one of 13 from Minnesota awarded Fund for Teachers grants this summer (see attachment for full list). We are extremely proud to call all of them FFT Fellows. Here is Gina's summary of her experience.
