¡Hola y bienvenidos!  Me llamo Jill Scarpari y soy profesora de español.  (Hi and welcome! I'm Jill Scarpari and I'm a Spanish teacher) 

I received my Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota.  During my years of study I lived and learned in Mexico, Spain and Costa Rica.

My personal emphasis while in school was studying linguistics-how the different parts of language work together.  I like breaking the language down-for example; looking for word roots or finding common endings-and then building it back up into sentences. This process helps make Spanish accessible to all students.

I have been teaching at Harding since 1992.  I have also taught at Cleveland and Hazel Park in St. Paul, Anderson Open in Minneapolis, Eagan High School and Rosemount High School. 

This year I am teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 3.The levels I teach can vary from year to year.  I hope to use this page to keep students (and parents) informed about Spanish class.  You can find more information about individual classes on the side. (but have patience this is a new and slow process for me).  Students and parents can always check parent portal for more information. 

The online sources posted here are ones we also use in class and can be an additional resource for students to use at home as they do their homework.
