AVID is to ensure that ALL students and most
especially the least served students who are in the middle will
succeed. AVID's systemic approach is designed to support students and
educators as they increase schoolwide/districtwide learning and
performance.
History
Harding's AVID Program started
with 85 Ninth grade students in 2005. AVID is a college prepatory
program. AVID students focus on writing, inquiry, collaborative
learning and reading.
Avid students will :
- Succeed in a rigorous curriculum
- Complete a rigorous college preparatory path
- Enter mainstream activities of the school
- Increase their enrollment in four-year colleges
- Become educated, responsible, participants, and leaders in a democratic society

Current AVID students have the opportunity to stay in AVID throughout their high school years.
